A) From Homeowners (Quote Requests)
When you request quotes from one or more installers, we may collect the information you submit, such as:
- Full name
- Phone number
- Email address (optional)
- Average monthly electricity bill
- Notes / address / property context you choose to provide (optional)
- Confirmation that you own the property or have permission to use the rooftop
B) From Solar Installers (Partner Applications)
When an installer applies to partner with us, we may collect business and operational details including:
- Company name
- Cities of operation and coverage area
- Years in business (optional)
- Website (optional)
- Work email and phone number (for verification and support)
- Company logo
- Selected key services
- Brands used and certifications (optional)
- Short public highlight note (optional)
C) Payment Information
Installer payments (such as wallet top-ups or lead unlock payments) are processed securely via Razorpay. We do not store full card details on Switch to Solar. Payment confirmation and identifiers may be stored for accounting, fraud prevention, and support.
D) Technical & Security Data
We may collect limited technical data to keep the platform secure and reliable, such as:
- IP address, device type, and browser type
- Login/session information for dashboards
- Basic usage analytics to improve performance and user experience
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Share your quote request with the installer(s) you selected
- Review and verify installer partner applications
- Operate partner/admin dashboards and platform features
- Process payments and maintain transaction records (via Razorpay)
- Prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access
- Improve the platform experience and reliability
3. How Lead Sharing Works
When you request quotes, your information is shared only with the installer(s) you selected so they can respond to your request. We do not sell your personal data or broadcast it to unrelated third parties.
4. Data Storage & Security
Platform data is stored on Microsoft Azure servers located in India. We use industry-standard security practices such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and internal restrictions to protect information.
5. Cookies & Authentication
We use secure session cookies and authentication mechanisms to keep the platform functional (including partner and admin dashboards) and to prevent unauthorized access. These cookies are not used for third-party advertising.
6. Data Retention
We retain information only as long as needed to deliver services, maintain records, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. Some installer account and transaction records may be retained for audit and compliance purposes.
7. Your Rights
You may request:
- Correction of inaccurate information
- Deletion of your personal data (subject to legal/operational requirements)
- Help understanding how your information is used
8. Data Deletion Requests
To request deletion of your personal data or a submitted lead, email us at switchtosolar.in@gmail.com with the subject “Data Deletion Request”. We’ll respond within 7 working days.
9. Children’s Privacy
Switch to Solar is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
